I have the new PCB to try, I'm ordering the rest of the parts for it here in a couple days. I ended up never building the first version of the cart.

I'm working on a Wonderswan flash cart. But the logic chip used by games is pretty much unknown to me, I could use some help if anyone's interested.

I want to make a Lynx cart also, but my design ...

It's artoh's design, so it'd be up to him. Building carts and making labels by hand is the only way I can, for now. Other than the occassional health hazard, heheh, it's pretty fun.

All I'm sure ...

I might be giving it a shot, over here. I'll see what happens after I assemble a prototype. It uses the same memory chips as Squeedo too, so I could have half the main parts stocked already. Smile

Yeah, I'm very interested in seeing these newer types of non-volatile storage.

Needs to be 5V though. That FM1808 looks very nice, it would work on Squeedo too. It's 32kB and could very well repl ...

Interesting, yeah that that is quite a while. On my Squeedo cart I'll be using AMD flash with 1,000,000 cycles minimum. So I guess that'd allow 100 erases per day for 27 years, wow. It might sound ...

There's more I/O cards at http://newegg.com/. They ship pretty quick (not quite local pickup, but hey)
Probably can get one cheaper there, but I don't know which one to recommend.

Just a quick question... is there a limit on the amount of times the cart can be flashed before the chip is no good as I have a feeling im going to be going nuts trying out different stuff.

You ...

If you really wanted to be safe you could maybe put "Not licensed or endorsed by Nintendo". But I really don't think it matters at all, since it's a user-made label. Unless someone starts reselling ...

There's a DS pass-through cart designed that will apparantly allow code to run from a GBA flash cart. I read about it here: http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/03/08/1941204&tid=222&am ...

mb can stand for two things, megabytes (MB) or megabits (Mb). There's 8 bits in a byte.

1 megabyte = 8 megabits.

32 megabit cart = 4 megabytes.

Hm, that's really odd. I'm not sure why that would happen. I've had 3 people report that it ran OK on their PAL systems (2 built their own carts, one used a SWC-DX) and I've seen a short video from ...

If you look on ebay, search for 'gamebit'. There's 2 sizes, 3.8MM and 4.5MM.

I have both, but I can't recall off-hand which one works for SNES carts (mine are all buried in junk right now, heheh). ...

I've seen some NES games that were converted to SNES by someone. Simple ones like Galaxian, Millipede, etc. They run with no sound.

People may say you're crazy for asking, but I believe it's poss ...
