hi

i bought a second hand super wild card with these problems , can anyone help ?

i get maybe 1 in 10 chance of actually getting the wild card to boot , just black screen alot of the time

doing the in built hardware test shows 32mb ram , but when it gets to the end of the test , it says error 0 and the sram shows 0
(i have the battery removed)

if i try and run the built in game or demo , it never loads

if i try and run a rom from floppy it says loading and stops straight away

sending a rom from pc results in the file transferring ok then on the wild card i just get a black screen

also if i put a cart in the top it doesn't recognise it , comes up with a scrambled name and the cart size changes if i go in and out of the cart info menu , shows the same odd behaviour if no cart is in also

things i have tried , removing reseating ram , check for bad traces etc

im thinking the ram is faulty ?

Sounds like there could be several things going on. I would start with the most basic thing first and clean the cart edge connector.

thanks for your response

all connections have been cleaned with isopropyl

i have also replaced all caps with new ones

re flowed solder on ram header pins on main board

checked continuity on those pins further down the board etc , all ok

im hoping its just a ram problem

is there anyone in the uk that has a 32mb ram board for sale or one just to test in this unit ?
