|
|
Hi guys,
Hope someone can help with my question (I am a newbie to TG16 so please forgive any ignorance):
I have a TG16 (USA) with a CD ROM attached to it (as a seperate unit). I have some CD's that will not play because I need the Version 3 system card.
Questions:
If I buy the PCE-Pro flash card - can I burn the Super System Card 3 to it and use it like a regular card Super System 3 card?
Can I use a regular Japanese Super System 3 cards on a TG16 without an adaptor?
I take it Japanese games can be run on a US system using the PCE-Pro flash card?
Any advice greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

1) You can flash the System Card 3 onto the PCE Pro but it's unlikely any games will work, the System Card 3 is required for Super CDROM games for a reason, the card contains additional work RAM for the console. The PCE Pro doesn't implement this so likely it won't work, same goes for the Arcade Card (Pro)
2) You can't use Japanese Hucards on a TG16 without an adapter, simple as that. TG16 Hu's have their connector pins rearranged so that it doesn't match the PCE's, adapters scramble PCE's pins to match TG16 cards.
3) Yes you can run Japanese games on a US system using the PCE Pro because the flashing software can rearrange the ROM image if necessary to PCE/TG16 format. |

I think you may want to invest in a Arcade Card Pro (you'll need a Pro as your system isn't a Duo/Laseractive) & converter, it'll be your best friend in playing the better CD games, just don't throw out your Sys 1/2 card since there are a handful of (regular) CDROM games that are incompatible with an Arcade card. |

You will also have to buy a converter, to use any PCE rom on the TG16.
The PCE Super System Card 3 is also fairly easy to find. _________________ Looking for a new game for the Genesis, SNES, Sega CD, Neo Geo CD, FM Towns, Philips CD-I, Atari Jaguar CD, TG-16/CD, X68000 or, CDTV/CD32?

As I understand it, PCE-Pro can flash ROMs bitswapped for the target region. |
