So there is a DSP chip in the adapter. Is it possible to make an adapter with other chips? If so, has anyone tried or are there too many complications? I don't have the skills to do this myself but was wondering if it's even a possibility.

I think it may be possible for the other DSP chips, but for each of those, there is only one or two games, so if you are going to switch the DSP adapter everytime for each of those games, you might as well just own the original game.
