Hi,

Sorry if this question has been raised before (I have searched but didn't find anything).

Anyway I have Double Pro Fighter Q+ 24m which has been stuck in a cupboard for a few years, recently I tried using it (on both SNES & Megadrive) but I just get 'read' or 'write' errors when trying to read the floppy discs.
Everything else seems to be fine, the original cartridges run on it o.k.
Can anyone lend any suggestions on how to get it working ?

Also, I seem to remember it could be used to as a converter run import games but as I haven't any import games I can't check, is this the case ?

Any info would be appreciated.

The read/write error could be two things (that I know):

Bad floppies
Bad floppy drive

Try formatting the floppies in the drive, and then try putting the games on them.

Hope this will help you

Yea, I'd start with the floppies and the drive. Could be the drive has taken a dive after all these years. Of course with a DPF it could be something else.

The DPF should also work as an import converter, I can't think of a copier I've used that couldn't be used for that purpose. Never tested my DPF for that, though.

Thankyou both for your advice.

I have tried formatting some floppies, but I just get the 'write error' message.

I could try a different drive, will any floppy drive work or does it have to be a certain make/model ?

I'm pretty sure you can use any floppy drive in there.

Try changing the ribbon connector to the floppy drive.
