I have a problem. The device was "fixed" at ffe last year, i got it back and i heard something was loose inside it. I diddnt bother to send it once more back, so I opend it and found a big blue thing thats looks like fat battery, but i dont remember what it is really called. Anyway, does anyone know where to find pictures of the swcs motherboard so i can see which way to place it, there are alteast only one place on this side of the board that it can be attached too. I can upload some pictures of it if needed.

thanks,
cPix

That's just the SRAM backup battery. The unit should function properly (without SRAM saves obviously) without it. I'm surprised FFE was fixing these last year! I wonder if they still have RAM upgrades.

Was the DX2 ever fitted with more than 64Mb of RAM?

Not to my knowledge, but I wasn't talking about upgrading his 64m SWC.

hm, yepp, i've been told this also, that it should work without it. Then I really wonder what the hell is wrong. I've looked at the main motherboard, everything seems to be in place, and I dont know where to actually look for a problem Sad Any good ideas?!

this is how the screen looks like when its turned on

I'd recommend a RAM check, but since your graphics corruption isn't happening "in-game", it looks like something more serious.

could be the ram expansion on it, but there's a BUNCH of jumpers i'd need to reconfigure to get it downgraded to the normal 32mb i think.. and there are no or non docs on this on the web.

You can try unplugging the RAM board just to see what you get, an SWC should boot without any RAM plugged in.
