|
|
Dear Friends,
I got a Snes Programmer from tototek, and i know that i must configure the LPT port in the bios into ECP to use it.
But, now i got a new PC, and they withdraw this PARALLEL port, then i bought a PCI PARALLEL PORT for my new pc... I have configured it well but ... my Snes programmer is not recognized at all...
How can i configure it to work??
Someone can help me??
thanks. |

Just open the folder. There are the datas you need:
Copy UserPort.SYS to %WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS
Start UserPort.EXE and add the addresses you want and remove
the others and click on start.
The userport.exe looks like the radioactive sign. _________________ The Mad Gears must pay! |

Here we go i am going to explain to you step by step.
First of all, this is the PCI CARD i have bought :
Then i looked for the MOSCHIP in the card (physically i mean) and i have seen this number MCS9805CV FK88F-000 0642. So the Driver I must Use is for the MCS9805 CV in the folder Moschip of the drivers CD.
BUT i got a problem and when i install the driver for the MCS9805CV it doesnt work at all, so i have found who looks like to work (the PC want me to install it when i want to install the card automatically).
So i go in the folder MCS9845CV and i select the OS ==> Win NT,2K,XP,2003 and then i select Win2K_XP_2003Server and then i install the driver NmUninst.exe . The PC want me to reboot so i will put another message next to this one. |

Then when i restart the PC he want to insall automatically the driver :
MosChip PCI Multi-IO COntroller 2.0.0.6 g:\moschip\mcs9845cv\vista-32\vista32\nmxpmf.inf ( i am using windows xp).
So i proceed. and i got this :
And then he wants to install automatically again something :
its the Moschip Parallel Port i install this one :
and now i got this one :
And its not working, i wanted to change the port for EPP to use the Linker Tototek but i dont know how to do...
PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEE |

Try to download the driver from the website of manufacturer:
http://www.moschip.com/html/download_drivers.html
http://www.moschip.com/data/products/NM/WinXP_2K_NT.zip
This is a unique driver for all MCS cards.
Uninstall the software and the driver from the system.
Unplug your PCI Card from the pc and plug it again.
Give him the driver from the website. Maybe you have also to use the NetMosWinNTMultiIODrivers in the NT folder.
After reboot try to change the driver manually on pressing the question mark and renew the driver.
If the driver doesn't work for your MCS9805 bring it back and use another pci card. Don't use a driver for Vista. Maybe you need the XP64 driver.
What kind of pc was your older one? _________________ The Mad Gears must pay! |

my older one??
it was a normal pc with the parallele port integrated to the mother card!
So it was easy to get in the bios and change ECP+EPP into EPP.
Now, its quite bit different..
Thanks for the links, but one question before doing this :
"After reboot try to change the driver manually on pressing the question mark and renew the driver. " ==> I install the driver you gave to me and then i must change it ???? how can i do this?
thanks |

If this question mark appears like your picture.

Then press on the question mark with right mouse button, go to preferences and renew the driver. Only do this if the question mark appears in your devices manager.
The best way is to keep an old pc with Win98SE and parallel port only for converting things. So i use an Duron 700MHz for converting Commodore 64 discs and for my Game Doctor SF6. Or use a cheap Win98 laptop.
In some cases Win XP doesn't support parallel plug and then you have another problem. _________________ The Mad Gears must pay! |

How about virtualizing Windows 98SE and using a USB-Parallel adapter? |

I think it wouldn't work. I've heard that this method is nonsense or these cables are nonsense. You can't convert USB to parallel. If you don't have an integrated parallel port then your lost.
Win98SE doesn't support so many USB connections. I have always problems with USB 2.0 sticks etc. With Win XP you have problems with parallel plug and with Win98SE you have problems with USB 2.0. It's a vicious circle.
I have WinXP and my parallel plug works with UCon and Game Doctor SF6. But only with this additional driver. It's called UserPort from Tomas Franzon.
I had problems in the first time. _________________ The Mad Gears must pay! |

Maybe you don't need the Userport software for first step. Did you tested the Snes programmer with this preferences? Can you damage it? I think you installed the driver right now. It's just because he shows now on LPT1.
Userport is in my case easier to handle. I have the numbers: 0378 - 037F.
So i have to click on the first numbers in the first line 200 - 37F and then i had to press on the start button. After this action i had to copy the userport.sys data in the folder win32/driver. For every start with UCon i had to start the Userport 1.0 and press on the start button. Now i don't need it.
Try to add this numbers: C00 - C07
880 - 807
and press on start button.
If the numbers don't work try: EC00 - EC07
E880 - E807
If all won't work, try to get Tomas Franzon:
