SWC DX2 - cannot copy SRAM data from compact flash card

I have a SWC DX2 with Disk Dual and inside is a Compact Flash to IDE adaptor and I am using a 2gb CF card. I can back up SRAM data to it fine, but when I take the card out and try to copy the SRAM off my CF card, windows (XP) says:

"Cannot copy file: Cannot read from the source file or disk."

Weird because I can copy other files to and from the CF card.

any ideas?
