The Multi Game Doctor 1 can't dump carts at all and the Multi Game Doctor 2 requires a rare peripheral dumping board to dump games. It also cannot dump FC/NES or GBC games at all, or many regular GB games, either. The boards also are only guaranteed to have connectors for SFC and MD, they may have connectors for GB, PCE and GG but generally you'd have to put your own connectors in. I don't think the utility disk software has any options for dumping a games save RAM either, nor does it support large MD or SFC games well.

Since you just want to backup original games and saves, I would recommend:
-CopyNES for NES: http://www.retrousb.com/index.php?productID=155
This is literally the only device capable of NES backup ever in production, your only choice besides it is to make your own, which is more difficult than really any other cartridge system.

-(modified) MegaReader for MD: http://www.paulsprojects.net/megareader/megareader.html
This is very cheap to build, if you solder a PCE connector in parallel you can dump both systems with one device.

-(modified) SMSReader for PCE/GG: http://www.smspower.org/smsreader/
Even cheaper to build, just solder a GG connectors in parallel you can dump both systems with one device.

-A GB flash linker for GB/GBC: http://www.hkems.com/product/gb/gba-tr.htm
This should dump nearly all GB and GBC (as good as anything out there) and is probably the cheapest you'll find a GBC flash linker-- I believe around US$20
