Im looking for an old laptop that has a parallel port so that I could hook it up to my backup units. As long as it will work, any kind will do. Also, if you dont have one for sale, but no of a place to get one, or any recommendations, please help me out!

Not all old laptops with parallel ports work with all copier programs. Tomy has told me in the past that some laptops parallel protocols are not the standard. My Toshiba Tecra 8000 works with uCON64 without gui but not with Tototek software. I prefer uCON64's command anyways. My Tecra 8000 is PII 300 MHz 256M with 10g hard drive. It was the shit when I got it but very outdated now. It has a DVD player and all so it does still do alot of what I need.

I have never seen a PCMCIA parallel card work with ANY copier. I have heard of MANY people trying too.

Laptop parallel ports are hit and miss. The controller chips in them are usually inferior to desktop ones. The best bet is to just have a spare older tower, unfortunately.

I've used a bunch of different Dells for parallel transfers, old Latitudes left over from previous jobs. You might want to try getting one of them.
