Hi, I recently got a GB Gamejack copier with a 16M cart. The software (Japanese version) that came with it on the CD looks nice but it crashes when I press any of the buttons to read/transfer games to the device. I am using WinXP, and even with GiveIO running, the Gamejack software crashes.

Does anyone have the original Gamejack transfer software? The websites which used to have information about the Gamejack either don't have the files anymore, or are gone. (I am aware of GBX-Tool, but that is not specifically for the Gamejack.)

Or is using the Gamejack with any software on XP impossible?

You might want to try DirectIO instead
http://www.direct-io.com/

It worked more or less for me when I needed to use legacy parallel programs under XP but was somewhat annoying to uninstall. Actually, maybe that was GiveIO, I've tried both and neither really cut it.

If that doesn't work, try this person:

Shocked

Here's a site with the transfer software (bad link) supposedly for XP so it may exist.

Don't legacy devices work fine under virtualization? The apps "should" be non the wiser to whats running under the hood, that is, unless there is some timing issues with the actual hardware.

It depends, I imagine some (most?) virtual machines don't really support full port forwarding.

I don't think you can run those apps under a vmware or similar.
