I just got a GD SF IV a few days ago from a chinese man at the market lol. I found an old 12v 1000mA power supply and plugged it in but it doesnt go . So I opened it up and tested the floppy disk power wires and they were only getting 0.45volts?
I just cleaned all the connectors but still no
Anyone help _________________ ~`~`~`~ |

You're the first person to ever own a Doctor SF IV, but likely it contains a 7805 which needs to be replaced. |

7805 cost about US$0.30 and are the most common voltage regulator. I would say it's worth replacing. |

Hey just installed one and its still not working. The floppy disk drives power output went to 2volts though. Maybe more than one components burned out? _________________ ~`~`~`~ |

Are you sure your 9-12V power supply is good for the job? (center polarity negative?) |

Sweet! Got it going! Thanks, but I downloaded DBZ Supaa Seiya Densetsu (8mbit) and put it on a floppy disk. Its keeps loading it and a percentage comes up and sometimes it just goes to a black screen. I havent got the game going yet _________________ ~`~`~`~ |

Lol i'm having some problems again. I found out how to go into the menu (Hold R) but when I try to do most of the settings in it its freezes or crashes. I cant change the language or anything. Also the only game i've got going is Daffy Duck Marvin Missions. I have a copy of Dragonball Z Suupaa Saiyajin Densetsu thats got an "ok" checksum and its apparently a good rom but it doesnt work. Can any of you get this game going? _________________ ~`~`~`~ |

Of course. Your unit definitely has a problem, likely still power related. |

I'm still puzzled about this being an SFIV, but whatever. Can we see a pic of it?
Anyway, I wanted to point out that in line with what Kyuusaku is saying, I have seen my GDSF7 do some very strange things when the improper voltage was applied to the unit. If I put the voltage too low, it turns on as a Professor SF3 or whatever. So yeah, these units can act very strangely when there' power problems.

Do you think i should try a lower voltage power supply. Also mine runs at about 15-16 volts when its not under load _________________ ~`~`~`~ |
