|
|
Hello all,
I recently came into possession of a Multi-Game Hunter (MD/SNES) cartridge copier, and had a few questions on it;
1) The power supply is missing, but the stickers indicate it's 10V, 1A; the socket is sized the same as the model 1 Genesis/MD, can anyone confirm if it needs a center-negative connection?
2) It came with the SNES cartridge adaptor, but is missing the Genesis/MD adaptor. I see repro SNES adaptors listed on tototek's shop, but can't seem to spot a Genesis/MD one. Would anyone know if a repro Genesis/MD adaptor is available somewhere?
Thank you for your help

1) MD center negative PSU is fine
2) Unfortunately not. I meant to make one for a long time but I've had too much on my plate...
It shouldn't be too difficult to replicate yourself. I'm pretty sure those pics are available here but I'll post them again. Please update this thread if you decide to make replicas.
3) FYI the MGH/MD Bios can be run as a SMS rom on an emulator if you're curious to check the GUI
4) You might wanna check out this thread I wrote a while ago:

Hi, thanks for getting back to me! Good to hear about the PSU.
Also thank you for these pictures! I did expect the adaptor pins to simply be a straight pass through, interesting to see some are crossed/omitted. I actually do have one of these adaptors with my other copier (a DPFX), so I'll be able to test/experiment with the MGH when it arrives, I was just hoping to find another adaptor for the sake of "completing" the copier. Either way, looks very simple to make, maybe I'll put together a set of PCB files for anyone who wants to manufacture their own board (OSH Park in the US does a good business for extremely small runs of prototype PCBs)... not sure what to do about the shell though, maybe recycle the shells from crappy old sports titles?
Will read through your other post a bit later, thank you for all your help!

MD adapter for the DPF is not compatible with the MGH but as you pointed out, it should be easy to replicate this board. For the shell you could indeed hack a cheap MD shell or build a 3D printed version of it I guess

Oh, so you are correct! Guess I will have to have one made.
Can you confirm which of your pictures is the front of the board and which is the back? It looks like "IMG_0286_1" is the front shell half, with the rear of the board facing up?
Also, for anyone interested, here are pictures of my DPF Gen/MD adaptor:

Attached are gerber x2 files with a n/c drill file substituted in for the drills. Hope it helps anyone else looking for a replacement!
