I saw that already madman, I was talking about the CD-ROM drive itself. I have the CCL parallel port adapter and was wondering if the CD-ROM drive itself could be cloned to work with the CCL parallel port adapter. I'm not as stupid as you think I am.

By asking that, yes you are. If the CCL CD-ROM could be made to work with the CCL parallel adapter, why would they have made an entirely separate CD-ROM adapter?

where does it say that the CD-ROM adapter and parallel port adapter are 2 separate units?

I will give you $500 paypal right now if you just agree to not totally bash me every time I ask a question. I don't know what your beef with me is

CCL parallel port adapter is not working for CCL-CDROM. I tested by mine.

and you need special software to use this CD-ROM because BIOS has not code handling cd-rom.(my PFXT2)

I don't have FX-64, I want to test FX-64 bios if it is code embededd.

madman, did you see that? It's the first time someone has confirmed that the CCL PP adapter does not work for the CCL CD-ROM drive.

kazmat, is the FX-64 BIOS socketed? I have an FX-64 and if the BIOS is socketed, maybe I can make an image of it with my EPROM programmer. Or maybe I can loan you my FX-64.

@ Kaz
Really??? That's surprising. What kind of setup are you using Kaz for the one you took pictures of? Can you detail the process for loading?

@ eastbayarb
Regarding the FX-64 I've seen at least 3 different versions so I guess the CD-ROM features could have been embedded in latest BIOS.
As far as CD-ROM support, my FX-32, Special Partner and Supercom Special claim to have this built-in function...now if they support the same CCL CD-ROM...no clue...

What BIOS version do you own? You can probably dump it with Tomy's soft, check here:

Mystic_Merlin,

I will check the BIOS version of my FX-64 a little bit later tonight.
(if it's ok with madman, who basically thinks I am probably too stupid to know how).

*EDIT* My FX-64 says it has a V2.01 BIOS

Here's an interesting one. Sure it's not a regular Pro Fighter but more of Supercom Partner clone though I wouldn't be surprised if the CD-ROM interface is quite similar.
The saler said the device was sold with its CD-ROM interface. AFAIK nobody has ever seen any interface for that specific model.
The picture is not clear but this thing plugged on the left sure does not look like a regular SNES cart.

Too bad I missed the sale by a couple of hours! Mad Mad Mad

I think it seems additional memory & DSP(?) PCB.

But I hear CD-ROM drive for Supercom Partner exists in Thailand only.

Good one Kazmat. Indeed the memory board seems to stand up like the one inside the copier and the chip is 28 pins so it could be a DSP.

So this slot would be meant for these upgrades?
Still I find weird the fact that this copier is originally labeled with DSP and 128M considering that there's a built in socket for the DSP (my supercoms have one) and the original memory board can take up to 128M. It would be more expensive to produce new devices with that extra PCB. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
