I am looking for a SRAM chip for the superwildecard ( the chip that remember the savegame data ) because I broke on of the pins of mine.

From the picture I can only assume it's a 600 mil (0.6") DIP chip, which would be correct. |

maybe it would be a nice idea to modify the copier in that way that it doesnt need any battary anymore. there is ramchips that dont need any power to keep data alive, right? |

Actually I noticed that on of my latest delivery some of the boards have been modified to use a 16V 1000µF cap in place of the battery.
I believe it keeps the SRAM powered for a day or less...
Anyway keeping the SRAM powered is only good to play the same game without having to save/reload the SRAM data from a floppy but even without any battery you can save/load data in the SRAM as long as the copier is powered.
The latest designs of most copiers I've seen use caps instead of Ni-Cd batteries. |

Ya, you really only need enough memory retention to survive a reboot back to the copier menu. After that, you just write your SRAM to disk and your good to go. |
