Hi all,

So I've brought a clients PC home with me because the issue I'm having with it is making me crazy and I wanted to really test everything thoroughly.

This is a large rack mount PC used to record video 24/7. It contains 5 HDD's, 1 40 gig system drive and 4 - 500 gig storage drives. I have done many diagnostic tests from RAM, processor, mainboard.... ect and they all come back fine.

Now for what ever reason after about 2 days it's just stops recording and I loose drives D & E from my computer. According to Windows event log they were "ejected" for some weird reason. I'm very sure it's not the software it runs as I service 5 other identical systems in this rack.

So far I've run check disk on drive C (tested fine with no errors) drive D (tested fine with no errors) Drive E..... well the check disk ran for about 36 HOURS straight, finally finished and I checked my computer and drive D & E disappeared again. I restart the PC and they come back again everytime. Drives D,E,F & G are all SATA.

I just restarted again and will continue doing a check disk on F & G.
Anyways sounds like E is corrupt but I find it really weird that drive D disappears too whenever this drive has to do some real work. After the last 2 drives I might swap SATA cables from E to another drive and run a check disk on it though E's old SATA channel and see if it tests fine or does the same thing.

Anyone have a clue?

Ahhh but it is in the chat section. There are quite a few comp savvy people here, didn't think it would hurt to ask.
