|
|
I just bought a boxed SMD floppy unit that doesn't come with a power adapter.
While I wait for it to be shipped I'd like to have a compatible A/C adapter ready.
I have been Googling around and can't find the power rating for this.
The seller told me I can use a standard US Genesis 1 power adapter (9v/DC 1.2A), but he also had no idea what the floppy was for so I figured I'd ask someone who knows for sure. _________________ www.videogameobsession.com |

The device itself has no power rating printed or molded on it? |

I won't know until I receive it. It's in transit atm.
I didn't realize there were different power adapters for the Genesis model 1 either. I have 2 original model 1 power supplies. One is 20watt/10v & the
other is 17watt/9v. Both official Sega too. _________________ www.videogameobsession.com |

Yes, I confirm DC 9V 1.2A is ok. |

Thanks Tomy!
Still wondering why I have 2 different voltage ratings model 1 Genesis power adapters. I guess they are both safe for that. _________________ www.videogameobsession.com |

The Genesis takes anything from 7V 1A to 18V 1A DC adapter to get it's power. It has a voltage converter that will take said DC adapter and bring it down to 5V. One of your DC adapters was probably cheaper to produce for SEGA at the time. |
