Hello everybody,

I recently picked up a Super Pro fighter Q for my SNES (PAL).
It seems to be the 16M model, and I read it can't play FX games.

Now I want to upgrade the 16M to 24/32M. (or eventually higher if possible)
And if it is possible, put a 12v floppy drive in it, or a cd-rom drive in it.
As far as I know the floppy drive in it came with it, and is a 5v.

Any words on how to pull this off?
Or are there any other mods which will improve this copybox?

It also has this serial I/O port, yet have to use it but I assume it will work.

Thanks in advance!

To upgrade the memory from 16M to 24 or 32 you need to look at the memory PCB and see if there is placements for other DRAM chips. If there are then you just need to solder them onto the board. If you are not experienced, seek help from someone that is. You may need to search out someone for help in this matter.

12v floppy drive? I'm not sure what you mean. It uses a standard floppy drive that everything else used. They run off 5V.

There is a CDROM for the Pro Fighter series but it is extremely rare and expensive and you might as well forget about it.

The "Serial" port you talk about is actually a standard Parallel Port. You can use it with a proper cable and PC to transfer data (like upload ROMs). You need to use a program like UCON64, have your PC's parallel port in the correct MODE, and use a straight through 25pin parallel port cable.

The only improvements to make would be to add memory to get it up to 32 Megabits, and it might be possible to add DSP support internally but I'm not sure.

I believe only the PFX/PFXT had the option of an internal DSP upgrade.
