|
|
Hi all, I need some advice. I have a Pro Fighter X for the SNES and I am having issues loading games from disk. It did work 18 months ago, but now the disk seems to load and complete and then depending on the game I either get it freeze on a logo or a black screen.
I've tried different disks and still the same, tried SMC and FIG still the same. The games on disk did work I can format a disk OK but haven't tried copying a cart yet. I am going to try a floppy drive tomorrow as 2 I had here are dud, so going to get a known working floppy.
Though I can't see it being a floppy as it sounds OK, I am going to guess RAM or something have gone bad. I got no diagnostic on it so cant run tests. I've had it apart and cleaned the connectors but still no luck. I am guessing the memory board is the board sitting on top of the main board with chips on it. I don't know if it is soldered or not as not pulled.
Any help is appreciated as I would like to get it working again. Also you don't need to have a cart plugged in to run the games from floppy do you?
Thanks in advance

First, find some known good or preferably brand new floppies.
Then try copying the games to floppies in MS-DOS Version 7 or below (not emulated or virtual machine).
Troubleshoot from there. _________________ -RTS- |
