Hi!

I'm having issues getting communication between my computer and the MGD1. The computer is an old Pentium III 733 MHz with abit BX133-RAID motherboard, Windows XP SP3 installed on it. The parallel port is configured to ECP mode. The MGD1 I own is the 8M version.

I start up the mgdlinker software, set the delay, select the file, connect the power to the MGD1 and hit write disk. I get the "Time Out Error!" message on every attempt. I exit the software between each attempt, and disconnect the power to the MGD1 before starting the software again.

The MGD1 should be working, as I am able to load games into it with the 3,5" floppy drive and play them on a console with the matching adapter.

Any suggestions here?

Regards,
Frank

I've now tried the MGD1 on a motherboard that should be compatible. I spoke with someone that is able to communicate with the MGD1 and got my self the same type of motherboard. It still does not work. Any suggestions?

I will give that a try. What should the port be configured to? ECP, EPP, SPP?
