I've not tried that yet.

I doubt it though, mate.
Sonic 3 used FlashRAM or EEPROM or something unusual to save.

It probably wouldn't be too hard for someone to patch the ROM to change its save ...

The superflasher software is not as good as DreamWriter for the MD cards.

No, I haven't.

I have only tried it with the latest version of the DreamWriter software (the same software has not had a problem with any other ROM).

Would that make a difference?

Why oh why does the DreamWriter software not like Turrican?
Whenever I try to select turrican (apparently all versions) for flashing to my cart, I get a box pop up saying:

Because there is no coin battery slot.
The original coin cell is soldered to the board.

It's not that bulky, mate.
AAA batteries are not huge by any standard.
