Hi,

With my Professor SF2, I succeed in loading a ROM with parallel cable. But for the BRAM or Saver, it forces me to use a floppy disk.

Can I use the parallel cable for the BRAM or it's totally impossible ?

Thanks !

Yes you can. Ucon64 and Bung's tools should let you recieve and send BRAM. For UCon64, it creates a save file if the filename you give doesn't exist. If it does exist it will send it. Something like Ucon64 -xgd3s MyGame.BRM will send it if the MyGame.BRM file exists, or save it if it does not exist.

Well, when I use --xgd3s, ucon64 tells me that the function for dumping SRAM is not yet implemented for the SF3.

And when I try to use --xgd6s, it tells me "ERROR: Communication with Game Doctor Failed".

It's the same when I send rom to my SF7, it works with --xgd3 but for --xgd6 : "ERROR: Communication with Game Doctor Failed".

It's because I convert my SF7 to PSF2 ?

EDIT : I reconvert my PSF2 to a SF7, same problem !

It probably has to do with your Parallel Connection. If you use Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista, or 7 you may have issues. Parallel Port stuff works best in Windows 98. Also you may need to go into your BIOS and change the Parallel Port Mode. SPP, EPP, ECP, are all different settings for its operation and you just have to try and see what works for you. On one of my PC's I had to fiddle around before the XGD6 commands worked for me.

I changed bios settings in 'Normal', 'EPP', 'ECP' and 'EPP+ECP'. --xgd6 also failed >< .

I tested on Win98 and Linux, sames results with both of them.

No hope ? :'(

EDIT : I also tried to use Bung's TSF3, but it doesn't seem to work. It just prints / - \ | caracters when I try to send/receive but nothing happens.

I'm not sure what's wrong. If -xgd3 worked, put the settings back to what they were for that and try the Bung tools again. Maybe Bung tools can do SF3 SRAM dump/send where as UCon64 cannot. That would be the next thing to try I think.

Nop, -xgd3 works fine but TSF3 (Bung's Tools) doesn't work. I have no idea. I am just going to manage my games backups with floppy disk.

But if anyone has a solution, I will try =)

Thank for your help !
