Is there any plans for a case for the PCE flash card. I dont feel confident with just using a bare pcb. |

Well, if you're concerned about static electricity (I would be too, myself), you could always wrap it in electrical tape or something.
That should be fine, I think. |

The case isn't the problem.
The problem is more that this flashkit fits in a Duo system (Any duo system.
Older flashkitds (MGD2) had protection on it, but the you couldnt use the cart in a duo system (unless you opened it and played with the case of your duo.
I wrapped tha part not sticking in my duo-rx in electric protective tape, quite happy with it
And you could ask the same question about there Game Gear Kit
That i don't understand Why the didn't make a kit seperate like the SMS and MD, and the flashcart seperate.
It would be a more friendly solution for GG owners. now the GG cart sticks out the GG 2 times as high as normal, also without protection. even if you stick the downside in a GG case. |

I just want the top half with all the electronic components to be encased. If the end was it wouldn't fir in anything.
Screw electrical tape (imo), I don't want an expensive piece of equipment covered in a sticky mess that will leave glue all over it in a year.
As for the GG problem, how about a GG-TV adapter, Tomy (to uses GG games on TV)?!

wel i would say, why let do the tototek guys all the job
try to make your own case (like i did with my md/sms kit
http://users.skynet.be/DuNe/project/box.html
Next job is making a clean and long work case to cover the pcengine and gg pieces that stick out.
A Gamegear to TV kit would be awesome
same for a Neo Geo Pocket to TV |

Because I'd be willing to pay to have someone else make a custom case. P.I.T.A to do it myself.

Nope
To keep it SEGA i used a Real Megadrive Case, not VHS (VHS isn't so strong)
If you didn't read the other posts:

This is the reason I parted ways with my tototek cart and went with the NEO flash but I miss my cheat codes. Oh well they are cheaper, bigger, USB rox, and protected from outside intrusions. Besides I hate the way it looks wiht the darn flap open. |

Answer is simple - lack of original cart slots for GG and PCE. Slots for SNES, MD are easy to find (ISA slot modification). |

Rather old post to reply to.
While you have a point about the cartridge connectors, you still could separate the programmer and cartridge by having the end of the cartridge has some other form of connector that the programmer would link up with. Then the cartridge would just have a connector on the end rather than the whole programming part. But whatever works. I do agree it seems like less of an issue with the PCE than it would be with the GG. The GG probably should just have a programming connector on it with a separate programmer piece. |
