My Doctor V64 throws DRAM errors on the 3rd DRAM bank (Bank 2). The RAM modules and all connections through to the chip designated “U2 V64” tested fine and I am on the latest BIOS (2.03b). I believe I have a bad U2 V64 chip which appears to be a custom NEC ASIC/gate array that can only come from Bung spare/salvage parts.

I could use a replacement U2 V64 (NEC D65640GJ270) or parts board but I’m not the only one since I saw a parts board with it removed. I’ll risk an untested one if the price is good.

I’d also love to find a Protected Cartridge Decoder, since I could use that with my V64jr512 regardless.

Other Doctor V64 parts I could use but don’t really need:
Original drive power cable (I rigged up an alternative)
Original Matsushita CD-ROM drive (currently have the same CR-583 but black)
…or…
Original Matsushita drive’s beige bezel and tray cover
…or…
Original slimline-type drive
…or…
Original slimline drive bezels and mounting hardware (typically says “V64”)

If you have them to go along with the parts board or U2 V64 chip or PCD, give me a price. Smile In the mean time I will be trying to find my second Doctor V64 which may be gone forever (not seen in nearly 20 years).
