Hello,

I think that could be a great idea a parallel to usb adapter for ALL console backup units, supported by ucon64 and Dreamwriter...

Not more problems with console backup units that doesn't work with the parallel port of your computer, not need strange pci cards with parallel ports (and have more free PCIs), not more need of crap parallel switchs or unplug and plug parallel cables... use the parallel to usb adapter that you want and a hub if you need put a lot of usb things...

Please consider this product idea, could be very well selled...

Regards,
timofonic

Yeah that's a good idea. I'm sick to death of having to limbo dance under my desk to plug/unplug different cables all the time. Not sure if you'd be able to make it or not, but then I wouldn't know as I'm not too technically minded.

Rolling Eyes I know YOU won't be making it. I was agreeing with your idea that it's a good one. What my first post meant was that I wasn't sure if ANYONE (obviously aimed at ToToTek...) would be able to make it, as I wasn't sure if it was technically possible.......

Interesant, what about make your own chip thanks to FPGA?

Do you need USB specs?

Do you need an USB transceiver? And this USB transceiver will be connected to a FPGA that will convert the parallel signals for can send to usb and vice-versa?

Check this URLs:

For Leo and other chinese people:

I will can send to you my Super WildCard DX (SWC 3201) for testing purposes (and you send to me when test it, since it's my only SWC DX Wink )

And while you're at it, could you redesign MD64Pro, GG32Pro, SMS32Pro and PCE32Pro, so that they use USB for both the power and data transfer?

Using LPT is quite annoing. On GBA side, products like EZF-Advance use a tiny USB <-> GBA cable to do all flashing Smile No external powersupplies or parallel cables. Very nice

Haha, if you do redesign this, you can rename products from Pro to Ultra (i.e. GG32Pro -> GG32Ultra). I think it sounds great

New products okay, but maked products, why? With the adapter you will can use these parallel products on usb, and you will can use other backup units on USB...

none of my 2 computers even have lpt ports

i sure need a usb->paralell adapter that the computer sees as a paralell port and not a printer port like all the ones i tried ...

and i sure wish all comming backup stuff is usb only as usb is faster and better then paralell anyhow...

I really like this idea. It would be especially helpful for Macintosh users since Macs don't have parallel ports. I'd love to be able to hook up my GD to my computer instead of putting all the games on disks (once I get it in the mail, anyway).

Great idea...it would be much easier to flash using just one usb cable.
