Hello,

I just received my MD-PRO Flash Cart and it works great for commercial roms but I can't seem to get rom hacks to work on it.

The rom I'm trying to play is Knuckles in Sonic the hedgehog.

When I put it on the cartridge and turn on my genesis I get a red screen and nothing else... I checked the checksum and it is correct.

Does anyone know how to make hacks work with the MD-PRO Flash Cart ?

Many times hacks, translations and homebrew games are not tested on real hardware, only on inaccurate emulators.

This one is developped by stealth though, a well know hacker that always checks his hacks on real hardware. So I just don't get why it doesn't work...

Ok, I found a solution to this problem.

Posting it ere for people who have the same issues: some hacks REQUIRE the cartridge to be completely full to run.

Red screen means the rom has an incorrect checksum. You can use uCon64 to calculate this and set it.

The thing is some hacks are so done in a way that they check the checksum of the cartridge you write them on that's why this one hack I was talking about requires the cart to be full of other games, if you check the checksum then still get a red screen try to fill the cartridge.

Make it so it's full in capacity: 64MB/64MB not 59/64.

Here's a game list example:

-rom hack (the hack you want to play)
-sonic
-thunder force
-game 4
-game 5
etc

Untill the cartridge is full.
