oh ok I see. So... theoretically speaking.. if I pull out the stock 32m card and put in TWO 64mb cards I can get 128m of memory? Is that possible and feasible?
As well.. can you have more than one game loaded into memory at a time upon power down and up so that you can choose which game you wish to play the next time without relaoding the floppy since you have the extra memory there available?
thanks again for your answer.
hope to hear from you soon with this answer! |

That's correct. You can replace the original 32Mbit card with a 64 Mbit card.
And yes, you can have multiple games loaded in the memory of the GD7 and choose at startup with game to play. As long as you don't cut the power to the GD7 unit, it will hold the games in its memory.

oh yack.. you mean the games aren't "flashed" into the GD7? I have to keep the unit on at all times just to keep the games active in it? If I shut it down at all I lose everything?! What If I have a power outage? and what about save games.. same thing? |

That's correct the games aren't flashed into the memory of the GD7.
You can turn the SNES of and still have the (save) games stored in the memory of the GD7 as long as the GD7 gets powered by the external adapter. |

hey mozzie.. can you do me a huge favour... get the model number on the back of the genesis ac adaptor you are using. I went to get one today and all the sega genesis ones I had were POSITIVE inner pole... the voltage and amperage was the same though.. I don't have a clue. If you can get me the exact model that would be great. Thanks. |

great mozzie, once again you came through for me. That model number was exactly what I wanted to know. Now I can just go looking for once and I'm all set!
as well... do you load off floppy? or parallel? |

Hey,
I use the parallel port to load my games.
I am using TSF3 or UCON64 to communicate with the GD7. TSF3 can also dowload games from the GD7, UCON64 can't. |

oh great. you are like my own personal teacher on this stuff hehe. How much ram do you have in your GD7 and how long does it take to transfer a game over? I would like to think I was pretty intelligent when it came to computers but Ucon64 looks really tough to use. SOO many options I get lost just loading it.
As well... is there a maximum length you can have to the cable running from your pc to the unit? |

I haven't timed the actual upload by parallel port, but it is a lot faster than a floppy. Especially with a 32 Mb game.
Read the online manual of the GD7 at:
http://www.emucamp.com/red/SNES/psfiiman.htm
It includes instructions on to use TSF3.
Ucon64 has indeed many options and a very helpful FAQ
If you can't figure it out yourself I'll teach you.
Cheers! |

You only need to insert a cartridge when you want to make a backup of it. |
