They work really well for development, everything I've been working on has been done with that.

I guess they've never heard of a CPLD. Too bad because a CPLD could easily fit an address decoder for SRAM, DRAM controller for 32M and buffer communication with the MCU so transfer isn't slow.

I do like the idea of a software debugger though; it wouldn't be as easy to implement in a copier as a ROM emulator but still pretty doable. Hmm we just need a monitor app.
