Hello all.

I am thinking of getting (if I can find one) a Tristar 64.
For those of you that don't know: It plugs onto the top of an N64 and allows you to play NES and SNES carts.

I was wondering if anyone had attempted to use a Superflash card with a Tristar.
I know that the Super Gameboy doesn't work with it and apparently the Tristar has the same issues with 'special' chips as the Superflash.

Has anyone tried this?

Many thanks.

I have a Tristar for the Super Nintendo and my Super Flash works fine in it.

I dont know how much of a difference there is with the Tristar64 though.

Yeah, I think I should be safe enough.

Thanks for the reply, mate. Smile

The Tristar for the SNES is a simple pass-through adaptor for SNES games. NES games are run on a NOAC (NES-On-A-Chip, a Single-Chip-NES-Clone) inside the Tristar. So any SNES cartridge should run, as long as all contacts are passed through. (Which are not, but that's only a problem for the SGB afaik).

The Tristar 64 is more a 2-Clones-in-1 device. It has a NES and a SNES clone inside and passes N64 cartridges through to the N64.

So the Tristar64 is actually not the same as the Tristar. But anyway I guess it'll work as the SuperFlash is "just" a simple ROM+SRAM cartridge without any special-chips. In the end it'll depend on the quality of the SNES clone inside the Tristar64.
