Does anybody know if the Double Pro Fighter BIOS files found here are any good? Allegedly they were dumped by kyuusaku. Are there any other dumps floating about and, if so, are they any good? I have searched for others and haven't found anything for the DPF, but my "Google Fu" may be weak or inferior. Anyways, thanks in advance for any help.

Problems w/your current BIOS? You can always try burning the file from that site and trying it. Worst case, you can put your old one back in there.

Well, I don't have an EPROM programmer at the moment and just wanted to know if the BIOS files were any good before buying one. I can think of other reasons for having a programmer, but I'm not sure if I'd use it for those reasons.

I did dump them, not sure which file is the "best" though. Each was dumped with a device programmer and verified but I can't guarantee the ROMs contained good data in the first place.

Thanks for the reply. I've noticed that the files are nearly identical. In fact, the dump from 2005 and DPF X BIOS have a lot in common. I guess I'll try all three out if and/or when I get a programmer. Does anybody have any recommendations for a decent programmer that's also relatively inexpensive?

Well, the Double Pro Fighter uses 27C512. I'm also thinking of using it for replacing my Neo Geo AES' BIOS and maybe replacing the ROM chips in some Famicom/NES (and maybe Mega Drive/Genesis and/or SFC/SNES) cartridges. I don't own any arcade boards yet (besides MVS cartridges), but I'm not sure if I'll need a larger (42+) pin ZIF. That would be more in the vein of resurrecting "dead" CPS-1 and CPS-2 boards rather than dumping. Wouldn't mind dumping, but it's definitely not a requirement.
