I'm especially thinking of buying a SWC DX2 (I hear it's the latest SNES copier made). But if you can't get a hold of one, then please find the most recent copier that you can find. Let me know what you've found.
If you can find any for under 100 US$ that would be nice, but I'm willing to pay up to $150. |

If not for less thatn $150. Then maybe I can get SWC DX2 without DiskDual.
By the waylI've been to their website, but I can't find the page to buy it at. Where's the purchasing page for game copiers on their site? |

It's $210 for the SWCDX2 and $150 for the Disk Dual. There is no page for the copiers. Email Mr. Liu and he'll send you the order form.
If you don't want to spend that much, Tomy has GDSF6 and GDSF7 in stock for less than $100. They are good units just use a different file format than the SWC. |

Why don't they have a page to buy copiers on? That's odd.
And who's or what is Tomy? What website is that? Please let me know.
And where can I buy the Super Magicom? I really really want that, because I hear that it's name is where the SMC file name came from in SNES roms. So can I assume it is the only copier that makes SMC format files? Which one makes FIG files?
Do all copiers use either FIG or SMC? Or does each of the dozens of copiers make it's own format, meaning dozens of different file extensions? |

They don't have a page for the copiers because there is only limited stock available and they are no longer that popular.
Tomy is the guy who runs this site. Go to the new shop at tototek.com and look at the products for sale there.
The Super Magicom is the old version of the Super WildCard. Only older games will have the SMC extension. Most available roms use SWC Super WildCard format. Other devices may use their own format but can converted with an application called uCon64. Google it. |

That was back in Jan of '08 so looks like I've already helped out a bunch of guys here discover the SWC DX2 again It truly is the best copier IMO, especially with the disk dual |

Thanks. But which (if any) emulators can handle that new format? 99.9% of roms I've downloaded ALL have the file extention SMC. the remainder use FIG. But ABSOLUTELY NONE of the roms I've downloaded use SWC. I've NEVER seen a rom called somegame.swc. They all look like somegame.smc or somegame.fig. I know that file extentions really don't tell you the actual internal format all the time. But if it does, then MOST of the roms are in the SMC format, not the SWC format.
And this brings up the next problem. I know that ZSNES and SNES9x can both use FIG and SMC. But I'm affraid that NONE of them can use SWC. Can someone let me know if this compatibility exists?
And one final question. What format(s) and file extention(s) is(are) output by Doctor SF6 with BIOS 6.21?

The only probem is that this requires an orderform, not online through paypal, so I have to give the guy either my bank account # or my credit card #. And that just sucks, because I NEVER give that info to ANYBODY, ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY someone who's into selling BLACK MARKET equipment for ILLEGAL game rips. If he has NO PROBLEM with STEALLING from Nintendo, then he also probably has NO PROBLEM with STEALLING from me. I can JUST SEE what would happen. I'd buy this from him and I'd get my device (I'm not saying it's a complete scam, I'm sure I'd get the device) but at a HUGE cost. Next time I looked at my credit card statement I'd see he put it to it's limit. Or next time I looked at my bank statement, I'd see he drained my account.
I might be being paranoid, but this is REALLY what I'm worried about.
Now could someone PLEASE post a link to a site that has the sells SWC DX2, that is has a web page to buy it at (no email transaction/orderform crap), that has it IN STOCK, and WILL accept Paypal for a payment method. And don't link me to eBay. I've checked them NUMEROUS times and NEVER have I seen ANY game copier for ANY system on there.

The SWC header is the same as SMC except for a flag to map the game as HiROM. (SWCDX2s actually expand this further for SRAM information etc.) Magicom hardware can't actually dump HiROM games so all the HiROM SMC files out there either really have a SWC header or an improper header in the first place.
Few if any emulators actually look at the copier headers anymore, they ignore them and instead use the game's internal header to get info about the cart to emulate. |

| Can SNES9x handle files that are in SWC format? How about the file extention? Can SNES9x read a file with an SWC file extention (somegame.smc)? How about ZSNES? Can it? I don't want to (if I can ever find a good one) get one that makes files that can ONLY be read by the copier itself, and won't work with any emulators. |

sigh... you should try to investigate further first..
FFE does accept paypal.. I confimed it myself..
FFE also accepts bank transfer payment.. which you can do it from any bank.. without having to disclose your own personal account number..
This is the method I use.. since I dont and NEVER WILL trust paypal and prefers do the old fashioned way.. bank wire
Sure it has risk, but hey... its only a few hundred dollars not like its thousands of it.. life is full of risks.. we should just be cool and take things as it is..
Ebay will most likely take down any copier auction.. but if you go look on non ebay auction sites.. (many out there) you will see that.. NOW.. there are people auctioning SNES and MEGADRIVE copier.. I wont go easy to reveal the site.. you DYODD.. you will find it it quite easy..
good luck!

Front Far East has been in business for 20 years. Mr. Liu isn't going to rip you off. I ordered 2x SWC DX2 and 2x Disk Duals from him a while back and paid with PayPal. No problems whatsoever and the units were here in a matter of days.
If you are that paranoid, and it appears that you are, I'd suggest just sticking to legitimately purchased cartridges. |

Why not reveal it? Are you affraid if you do then someone will read your post and then go and try to get the other site shut down?
And by the way, I've seen Swap Magic (for PS2) which is a swap disk that allows the playing of foreign region games and even bootleg copies of games on the PS2. And I've seen this swap disk being sold on Ebay. But no cartirdge copiers. Why? Don't companies stand to lose MORE money if cracks for newer games are allowed to continue? And isn't PS2 quite a bit newer than SNES? So why care more about shutting down SNES cracks stuff, but not so much about the PS2 cracks stuff? This just makes no sense. |

You're way off topic here but Swap Magic is a product I am quite familiar with so I'll answer your question.
The reason they get away with selling it on Ebay is because it has legitimate use for playing import games. I'm sure if someone advertised it there for playing backups the auction would be removed. I've seen console copiers on Ebay as well. So long as the seller does not use obvious words like "backup" or "copier" Ebay probably wouldn't notice. |
