I've been talking to Recoil about resurrecting Cherryroms. If you'd like to see the site come back, leave a comment on the site. The poll isn't working for some reason.

I am not going to vote there. The owner of the site has to make his mind up by his own. If he want to resurrect the site, please go and we all will be happy! If not, so be it, no one will comit suicide, there is other sites more than enough.

I want to see them come back, especially if they resurrect the message boards. I know a lot of great topics were lost...

What a shame. Cherryroms Copier & Hardware board was such a great resource of knowledge.

Hey Smile.. I've still got a harddrive which may well have old cherryroms board content on it, I'll be trying to pull the data off of it although I'm not too hopefull it was pretty broken last time I tried.

If you have problems with it, I recommend GetDataBack by Runtime Software. I've salvaged a lot of files with it in the past. Wink

Wish it were that simple, the trouble is with the drive itself, besides it's not a Microsoft partition format it's old school UFS from FreeBSD 4.x I think.

I find this to be helpful when trying to resurrect old data
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.cherryroms.com/

It doesn't save everything, but I was able to use the html and just filled in the missing pics when my website crashed a few years ago.

lol I logged in too. I can't seem to find a forum search.

It is interesting that most of the people whom I have been communicating with on this board have posts there that are over 3 years old. I never even noticed those guys back then. I only recognized people from the scene back in those times, now most of them are long gone (which isn't necessarily a bad thing in most circumstances lol)

Very resourceful site!

Look at this thread:
http://www.cherryroms.com/forums/copier-and-hardware-forum/non-exploit-means-reach-sf7-bios-and-gamestation.html

It looks like the BIOS to SRAM soft was originally based on an exploit in the SF7 BIOS found by Neviksti.

Has anyone got hold of the source code finally?
He also mentions another way to copy the BIOS in WRAM and make a realtime save...nice!

Maybe I should reopen the original thread Embarassed
