I'm very new to the whole idea. I would like some advice of what to get to copy my SNES cartrides to PC.
I've read about floppies and all sorts. I would like to know the cheapest way to create ROMs to play on my pc. I've got a floppy drive on my pc and it runs win7 - i do have a xp machine if that helps. I have a PAL SNES and really if possible to don't want to touch the inside of the console, but I could be persuaded!
Again I'm totally new to this, any help would be nice. Oh and one last thing are the prices on the ToToTEK.com displayed in USD? |

| You dont need to dump carts yourself, just get one of those nice SNES Roms Packs (a torrent or so) and youre done. |

Its some thing I would like to do. I'm not very keen on torrents or really downloading ROMs. Most sites say that if you own the original cartridge its legal.
Recently I'm really starting to get into vintage computing and gaming.
Any advice would be good! |

USB is very nice!
Seems like that Mash-mods SNES Retro Flash programmer is all you need. |

| The SNES PowerPak is very flaky right now. On the nesdev forums there are people complaining about it. I still want one though, I would wait until all the issues are cleared up before spending 135 dollars. |

It plain doesn't work on many SNES consoles. Despite SNES consoles all looking the same (except for the SFC Jr./SNES Mini) there are many different hardware revisions. On some consoles the PowerPAK works as intended and is wonderful for playing games. On other consoles, it either doesn't work at all or errors out or something. The creator of the SNES PowerPAK has not yet addressed these issues, but the NES PowerPAK had a similar issue that was later fixed and everything was great afterwards.
So basically you could have no problems what so ever and enjoy the hell out of it. Or you could be tearing your hair out because it won't work no matter what you do. It would help if you have multiple SNES consoles (I have two, one US, one JP) since if one fails to work with it atleast you have some other chances. |
