help pls......... i posted a picture of my Snes UFO which isn't working.
i was thinking that there are 2 missing ICs: one is in between the two 9341 and the other one is on the leftmost part. pls see below. i just wanna know if they are necessary and if YES pls let me know what value of IC should i use.... thank u so much!
i compared the main board to Sp33dFr34k's post and i noticed that there is another missing IC in the upper left part, the GD74LS74A.
pls help me with my UFO. i bought it as defective hoping that i could fix it.

First thing to check would be the voltage regulator, see if that is getting output.
EDIT: Assuming it is one of the models powered externally. Also, a description with more information other than "it isn't working" would be helpful. |

There's no component missing on your board, just the capacitor on the top left. Maybe someone used a wrong PSU and blew it. Not sure if it's the culprit but get it replaced (same ratings as the bottom one) and check that your voltage regulator is working.
Here's a pic of a working UFO:
No PSU is needed for the screen to show up as long as you get the corresponding CIC for your console so you'd rather insert a US cart if you own a NTSC console.
As stated by madman, more details on your problem and better photos would certainly help. |
