What is the most feasible way to dump NTSC/NTSC-J GB/GBC games? Is there something like the supercard for the DS that I can use? I would appreciate any advice pertaining to this, thanks a lot =)

Edit: I'm also curious on how to dump EEPROM saves off GBA carts. I can't seem to get it to work no matter how hard I try. I'm beginning to think it's impossible

Thanks

Older GB/GBC Flash Carts that used a Parallel Port and you plug the cartridge into a base to program can usually be used for dumping cartridges. Other than that I'm not aware of other methods. You could always make your own adapter if you had to.

For GBA, I'm not sure how to dump the saves. If there is an older GBA Flash Cart that used a Base you plugged the cartridge into that would probably do it. Action Replay type devices might be able to pull saves off carts as well. It's also possibly with the GBA Link Cable you could upload a program to extract data from a cartridge that way.

Hmm that sounds OK I guess. I don't have any idea how to make a cart dumper for a GB/GBC. Is this a difficult process?

What were the old flash carts called? I tried to find them but I find different "supercart" stuff that is for GBA. The main reason I wanted to do this was to play the NTSC-J games I had rendered at a better capacity than the original hardware via an emulator. However I'm leaning towards just sacrificing and playing a Super Game Boy and going to the big scale TV.

Some of the GBA saves come with the ROM when I dump it. I guess those are the ones that use SRAM? I don't know but Metroid Zero Mission is one that does this. I don't think I can get EEPROM and Flash saves off GBA cartridges but there has to be a way somehow. I'll keep on searching and trying. Action Replay seems to be a very good solution but I would like to talk to someone who has used it before.

There are new flash carts for GB that use the USB port and are pretty cheap.

I found a link,

http://www.noiseandroid.com/lang-en/herramientas/36-ems-usb-gameboy-smart-card-64m-lsdj.html

is that one that would be appropriate? Also could you link me to a store that supplies the cards you are referring to?

Thanks

That is not for dumping carts. If you want a Flash Cart, the 64M USB Smart Card is great. GB/GBC USB Flash Carts run around $40USD.

Right on, I think I found one. I might pick it up:

http://www.hkems.com/product/gb/gba-tr.htm

Is that the right kind of thing?

Also, I was curious about the N64 dumping. I know that the Bung Doctor V64 is the best, I guess? It's expensive... I've also read about people using a Game Shark v3.3. Is that reliable or worth it? Or should I just shell out the extra cash?

You can use a Smartboy to dump it. It comes with a USB GB reader port and cartridge. You can also use a UFO docking station to clone/copy a game as well, or a Touch Boy with transfer software.
