Anyone know what SMS games can run on a Super Magic Drive? Can SMS games be backed up to a Super Magic Drive or somehow converted?

I have already looked here:

but it seems outdated...

my SMD is version 3.1g...I know there exists version 4.1a, but what are the differences between the two and how would I upgrade?

That thread is from 2010, there haven't been advancements in SMS games or the SMD since then so it's not at all outdated. You asked if SMS files can be converted to run on the SMD, the answer to that question and the utility used to do so is in the thread you linked. Honestly, do you even read anything on here?

If you want to upgrade your BIOS, you need to burn the EPROM in the SMD with the updated firmware. Same as every single other copier from the 90s.
