I tried loading a state in ZSNES and it said the state was too old, tried an older version and it crashed the emulator.

Save states or BRM files? The 8 megabyte save states are not compatible with any emulator. The BRM files are the same as SRM files for emulators. They are compatible with any emulator.

the Real Time save that gets created when I press select + R while playing a game on the GDSF7.

Is there an emulator that supports these files?

Years back, neviksti made a ZSNES to GD7 save state converter. I don't think it can convert from GD7 to ZSNES though.
