|
|
I currently just removed the DSP chip from lock on and installed it in the socket of my pro 8 copier. Yes the orientation is correct. I tried Super Mario Kart and got the nintendo logo and then nothing. In the main menu it says DSP off. If I install this chip should it automatically say DSP on or is there a setting I need to enable. If there is I can't find it.
I need to know to determine if this chip is bad or not. Thank you for your help ahead of time. |

| It's definitely not using the DSP properly. I'm currently working with SMK and I know if I don't connect the pass-through cartridge the game stops at the Nintendo logo. If I reconnect the pass-through, it works. |

Based on the following list, Lock On has the same DSP as SMK so it should work.

Usually you don't have to activate anything for a copier to detect the DSP.
Maybe you damaged the chip when u unsoldered it?
If it's not too much of a hassle, solder it back to the Lock On pcb and test the game...this way u'll know if it's really damaged. |

Did you install the 7404 as well? Take a good look at the copier PCB.
