I keep seeing one of the selling points of Doctor SF7 being its BRAM dumping ability. But what does it do? I know many computer acronyms like:
RAM = Random Access Memory
SRAM = Static RAM
DRAM = Dynamic RAM
SDRAM = Synchronous DRAM
but then comes
BRAM = ??? RAM
What does the B stand for? |

| There's no real standard, but it probably stands for Battery-Protected RAM. |

So then that would be the game saves on cartridges that use battery powered game saves (as opposed to manually entered save codes). |

| I think what they are talking about is the feature the SF7 has to read and write the Save Game RAM inside real cartridges. I'm pretty sure I saw that the original Bung PC programs could do that. |

So does this feature require a computer to use, or can BRAM data be on a floppy, and then use the menus in the Doctor SF7 to do the loading/saving of said data?
On another note, I've been thinking about getting a Doctor SF7, and have been wondering something. Is its cartridge connector (the part that fits into the console) designed to fit the cartridge slot of the SNES or the SFC (Japanese SNES), or is it a "universal" cartridge connector so it would fit the cartridge slots of both consoles?
And is its own cartridge slot designed to fit SNES game cartridges or SFC cartridges, or both? |

You need a PC for that feature to put BRAM on actual cartridges.
The connector on the bottom will fit any region. Any region carts will fit into the SF's cart port. One thing to note is the SF7 is shaped to fit into a JP or Euro system better. On a US system you may need to stick a CD jewel case to steady the back part of the copier.
Before getting a Copier like the SF7, you might want to consider the SNES PowerPAK if you just want to play alot of games on your SNES. |
