I recently bought a snes and 64 mb sfd7 and have some dumb questions. I owned a snes and ufo back in the day but i cant really remember much about it. Im also getting my v64 going again after a long break due to a bad power supply.

1 I didnt buy the dsp1 adaptor, is it possible to use a cart with the dsp chip in the copier and play dps games from disc? or do i need to either get the adaptor or butcher a cart and install the chip in the copier?

2 would having a super fx chip cart in the copier use the chip in the cart so games from disk would work?

3 Is there any preferred cart to have in the copier? maybe im thinking of the v64 i had where the cart might have made a difference to save games.

1. No, GDSF7 does not support cart plugin for DSP play, atleast not with retail carts. There is a DSP cart available that goes in the slot, not sure if you could mod a commercial cart to work like that or not. There is alot the Blue DSP connector adapter.

2. No, Super FX will not work from Disks, ever. Neither will any special chip games other than DSP1.

3. GDSF3 and up do not need any cartridge in the copier. There is no reason at all to have one in unless you are copying it. N64 copiers needed different carts for saving or CIC reasons.
