I wanted the ability to write to FDS disks mostly to refresh games where the magnetic flux has degraded or the data has been logically corrupted. My FDS was one of the latest models with the strongest copy prevention circuitry. This chip along with the FMD-POWER-05 modification of the power supply board (illustrated on famicomworld.com) have turned it into a fully capable writer. The FDSStick, transfer cable and the Windows app have made the process super simple. I successfully repaired a corrupted game by freshly writing a copy back to the disk, and also written several English translated titles to disk. Very cool.
