| I've seen this once ages ago when I was a kid. My friend's dad had it setup to load from PC using a specialised program. Where can I download one? At the moment I have a PAL UFO Super Drive Pro 6 working. But I will also have a SF7 Gamedoctor working once I get a power supply for the NTSC SNES. I've got 3 operating systems to use - Windows 98, 2000 and DOS. |

Google UCON64. It can link with various copiers. I know the GDSF7 does, the UFO I guess it does but I'm not sure, I was under the impression it didn't have the port.
One thing you must keep in mind though is Win98 and DOS are your best bet for it working properly. Windows NT, 2k, XP, Vista don't support the parallel port the same way that Win95/98 did or DOS. To simplify use you should use Win98 on the computer you want to load roms from. I use an old Laptop computer with Win98 on it myself. |

I know that it is true you can get it to work on WinXP. I didn't say it didn't work. I just mean that it's alot more straight forward to use on Win98. With Window XP you need to install a driver and you may need to tinker with your bios settings and such. Of my 4 recent PCs I believe only 1 of them worked with the parallel port and my Copier. My most current PC is not that one, which is why I got a laptop. Also, even on the PC the parallel port worked on for my Copier, it failed to work with my EPROM programmer which tells me that something was still wrong.
So if running a PC with Win98 for your PC linking with your copier is a possibility I would recommend it. No hassles, straight forward, it just works. Though that may not be the case with all PCs as newer PCs may have other issues. |
