I don't have a clue on the update question. I never had a problem upgrading the BIOS and this goes all the way back to the initial releases.

do you know if its possible to jump from bios 1.41 to say 1.91? or is there certain bios updates i may need to do inbetween?

also, which is considered the best bios to use for these machines? i know theres loads out there, but sometimes the newer bios files arent always considered the best when it comes to doing stuff like this. (or perhaps it is! haha).

I don't think you need intermediate versions, at least I don't remember that from the past though it has been over 10 years since I've done a BIOS update on a v64.
