Hello,
I notice there is a lot of help in here for people still using Super Wild Card units. I had one many years ago.. but now getting back into them for more sentimental reasons.

But i'd love to expand both my DX and DX2 units to 64MB if possible.

Has anyone go a pic or 2 of a memory board with 64MB attached?? Not sure if i need to mod any of the GAL/PALs etc as well.

Thanks for your help,

T.

Hello, The DX can't have more than 32MB, you can check some pics of the memory board here:
https://www.nightfallcrew.com/26/04/2012/super-wildcard-swc-dx-32mb-front-fareast/?nggpage=2

The DX2 is using a GAL on the 64MB board and so far it hasn't been reversed engineered

Well thats a bugger.

I'll leave my DX alone then...

Does anyone have a pic of the 64MB Super Wildcard DX2 Memory board??

I'd love to see it.

If i had one.. i could use the GAL/PAL brute force dumper i'm going to build on it.

I would have taken a picture but my DX2 is also a 32M so I'd be interested if you can reverse that PAL/GAL/PEEL.
You can see a snapshot of it on this video but it's not gonna help:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C31FE-aqnQE&t=122s

When you mention a PAL brute force dumper, are you referring to something like that?:
https://github.com/DuPAL-PAL-DUmper/DuPAL_Board/tree/master/board/DuPal_DIP

I've been keeping an eye an an easy solution to generate JED files from protected PAL by reading all its I/O but so far there seem no be none available.
Is this something you've done in the past?

The Brute Force adaptor i'm building is this...
http://dreamjam.co.uk/emuviews/readpal.php

There is also a second one i want to build that does more chips.

I have a ton of game carts that have security locked Pal/Gals... so need a way to dump and preserve them.

Or should i open a new thread to ask about this??

Another tech thing i have found is there are 2 different revision (maybe even 3) of the DX version.

Both i think have the goldstar floppy chip.. but one allows 1mb SRAM chip / Run the DX96 bios fine.

The second (older) one doesn't have enough pins on the sram for 1mb.. BUT i can get DX95 bios to run on it.. But NOT the DX 96 BIOS to run. I have even checked the 96ROM chip/eprom in the new rev and it works fine.

But the old rev refuses to boot.
Its the same amd 27c020 eprom in 120ns (original chip is 150ns).

Not sure if anyone needs this, I had a badly corroded 32MB memory board and in the process of sanding it down to repair the traces I took a few scans

Hope it helps somebody!
