I have a PC Engine Duo-R and may be getting a Magic Super Griffin soon. Will the two work with each other or is only a regular PC Engine or Core Grafx/Core Grafx II the only thing that will work? Thanks!

No.. 1) it won't physically fit around a DUO and 2) The Magic Griffin must power the entire PCE which it can barely manage with a Core unit.

Yes if you don't connect the Super CDROM's DC out.

You can use the PCE-Pro to do that, or use hacked HuCard ROMs for Super CD ("Super HuCard" I believe it's called) or wait for another MegaCart-like device for PCE that loads games from CD into RAM/flash.

The Super CDROM attatchement has the RGB out connector, so are you saying that if I can't connect it's DC out, then I may not be able to have RGB output on the core grafx II?

Do you know if there is going to be a Mega Cart-like device for PCE? That would be awesome! I am surprised it hasn't been done yet.

Huh? This has nothing to do with the expansion connector. You must power the Super CDROM with it's own adapter and power the PCE and Magic Griffin from the Magic Griffins adapter, that's it.

Even if you have everything connected and working, you still MIGHT have to remove the Magic Griffin to play CDROMs depending on how well the Hucard passthrough works.

I don't know if there'll be one; the hardware is incredibly simple/cheap but the PCE loading software is very difficult to develop and can easily be ripped off by anyone with a burner.

What kind of power supply does the griffin and disk drive need? Can I just use sega genesis 1 adaptors?

I got my griffin today and was also wondering what is needed to get .PCE roms to work on it. Can I just rename it to some different extension or does it require conversion. Sorry, I did search here and google and very little info is available on the griffin.

receives automatically when ROM does not exist

I guess that's my time to stop now. It's just a matter of time before kyuusaku chimes in. I suppose it's about time that I just leave for good before I offend anyone else

Well that lasted long. I guess the 1 day we had without a stupid question from him that could easily be solved by Google was the only break we'll get.
