| Does anybody here have one they'd like to sell? I'd be interested if the price of the product + shipping (to Seattle Washington) came to under $100. |

2 things.
1: I know they have it, but price + shipping = $108. I asked here if there is an INDIVIDUAL who owns one (not a company) , and might be willing to sell it such that price + shipping < $100
2: WHY IN THE WORLD DID YOU POST THE STUPID LINK?!!!! DON'T YOU KNOW THAT UNTIL I FIND SOMEONE WHO HAS ONE THEY'RE WILLING TO SELL ME THAT THE ONLINE STORE THERE IS THE ONLY PLACE I KNOW THAT EVEN HAS ONE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND LIKE 1 OR 2 ARE ALL THAT'S LEFT IN STOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! xiaNaix, I COMMAND YOU DO EDIT YOUR POST NOW AND DELETE THAT LINK BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE SEES THE LINK AND FOLLOWS IT AND BUYS THE DEVICE BEFORE I HAVE THE CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone on here already knows about gamedoctorhk. You haven't discovered something special, Columbus.
And really, what's a $10-15 savings anyway. Did you try asking for a discount first if it's really that important? |

Well you or somebody did it. Miraculously it has "sold out" at GamedoctorHK. It had been on there MONTHS and then in a couple weeks of this angry post I made, it's GONE! JUST FREAKING GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had JUST started the transfer of my bank account money to Paypal last week so I could buy it. And then JUST today when the transaction finished being processed, and I was going to GamedoctorHK to buy it, I saw the "sold out" sign on the page. I mean I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really HAD TO get this for my gaming collection! Now I'm a 24 year old man, and don't cry about much. But THIS, it was just too much. I bawled as if I had just personally witnessed my own family being slaughtered by terrorists or something.
I'm begging you, whoever you are who's reading this, I'm BEGGING you to PLEASE cancel your order. You probably already have a copier and don't need this thing's extra features. I DO need the features. You've probably just done it for "spite" because of my original ranting post. Please have mercy and forgive me. I'm sorry for the rant in that earlier post. Just PLEASE, I BEG YOU, cancel the order (and have it shipped back if has already left their warehouse). I must have this. Please think of me as a fellow citizen of the world, and have mercy and empathy, and cancel the order so I can buy it. |

You're not much of a contingency planner, eh? At age 24, one would think you would have learned this skill by now.
There are ways to avoid this kind of situation, for instance:
1) Contact the seller and ask if the items can be held until you can make payment;
2) Purchase the item and let the seller know that payment is forthcoming;
3) Borrow money from a friend to make the purchase, etc...
Also, you could still contact the seller and ask if he has another for sale or if he could procure you one. There are many more in existence. |

Well ok I know better than to say anything but I will just for s&g
Just email the owner of gamedoctorhk and ask him if he will source another unit for you and let you know when it is available. Or ask Tomy. Or even ask Tomy if he still has one. Often times, one of those two guys still has units in stock that they are either working on putting into inventory or are in the process of testing or repairing and might be questioning whether or not to put it on the site if it had been repaired anyway.
If it was me, I would just hmm... I kind of lean toward the Neo SNES Myth cart now rather than these old clunky devices. But that is just me. Flashram is my choice. And I still have my SWC DX but you can only load one game at a time onto that. Plus would not be worthwhile for me to sell it because its value has vastly diminished over the years from what I bought it for. _________________ -amptor |

I already emailed the admin at GamedoctorHK, and he said he'd notify me if they get another one. But of ALL the times I've been online, that one at GamedoctorHK (I discovered about a month or 2 ago, but didn't have the spare funds until just a week ago) is the ONLY time I've seen a copier for sale with the description "UFO Super Drive Pro 8 with bios version 8.8c". So its SUPER RARE. So I figure it'll be another 10 years or so before I EVER have a chance to buy one again (possibly never, in which case I'll die of old age before I get one), which is why I'm SO TICKED OFF that JUST when I was about to buy it, IT SOLD OUT!
And while FlashCart is more modern and practical, it doesn't carry the "ambiance" the "old time SNES game pirate mystique" that those old copiers do. The Super Pro Fighter, Game Doctor SF, Multi Game Hunter, Super Wildcard, Super Magicom, Supercom Partner, UFO Super Drive, etc are what carry this mystique. And while being historical, they also have the practical fact that they do what they always did, copy games and play copies.
Now the UFO Super Drive Pro 8, is the best of these "vintage gaming collectibles". From the description on the GamedoctorHK page, here's all the features I remember it has (you'll see why I want it so much).
Features from Super Drive Pro 7 and 8
Basic copier features:
Rip game to disk
Rip game to copier DRAM
Copy game from DRAM to disk
Copy game from disk to DRAM
Play game from cartridge
Play game from DRAM
Play game from disk
Game save features:
Copy save from cartridge to DRAM
Copy save from DRAM to cartridge
Copy save from DRAM to disk
Copy save from disk to DRAM
Extras:
Action Replay / Goldfinger cheat systems
System Check
Cartridge Check
Controller Check
x2 slow motion
x3 slow motion
Live game savepoint save (like in emulators)
Live game savepoint load
Allow PAL games to be played on an NTSC(U/J) console
Allow NTSC(U/J) games to be played on a PAL console
The GUI is better than on most copier devices
Features from Super Drive Pro 8 only (possibly limited to latest BIOS, version 8.8c, but I'm not sure)
Screen capture to MAG image (same format used in Japanese computer PC98) stored in DRAM
View MAG images from DRAM
Copy MAG images from DRAM to disk
Copy MAG images from disk to DRAM
The GUI is better than the one on Super Drive Pro 7 |

I've had plenty of opportunities to buy that copier from tototek and never saw that I actually even really needed one.
a neo snes myth is a better unit imho. I have more fun with it than a clunky old floppy backup unit. _________________ -amptor |

Clearly you don't understand the "mystique" of inferior devices, slow floppy loading, and other reliability issues. Why would you buy a modern device that does all the same things but better? That'd just be silly.
I haven't used the Neo SNES cartridge but the SNES PowerPAK kicks ass. The only reason for using an old copier in my eyes is to actually dump a cartridge, or you want to play copies but also want to save a buck as copiers are cheaper than newer modern cartridges like the Neo, MashMods, PowerPAK, and SuperFlash. |
