You should make disk images of the floppies, both for preservation and because the MGD2 (and others) often access data below the file system.

It emulates subtitle cartridges for specific Laserdisc players. It's the rarest I/O but completely useless.

I haven't found 1 but at least 4 copies of these disks. I guess I was already cautious about preservation
A good thing since now both original floppies don't work...at least on my current MGD2 FDD. BTW I recently found a similar citizen 26 pins FDD with a 26<->34 pcb adaptor from an old compaq computer; if someone is interested in a picture let me know.
From what I remember there used to be 2 main utilities on the MGD2 that I compiled on one single standard dos format FD at the time.
1st utility for regular copy/format
2nd utility for backing up games with the board
I'm not sure there's a need for a disk image kyuusaku but I'll do one i you want.
I can barely remember what those utilities are for, here's a guess:
U4_0.X02 (G1)
IC = Information?
FU = Format Up? (1.6M?)
FH = Format High (1.44M)
FL = Format Low (720k)
DA = Delete All?
CD = Copy Disk?
CF = Copy File?
MGD2BP02.X02 (G2)
MD = Mega Drive
PC = PC Engine
SF = Super Famicom
GB = Game Boy
GG = Game Gear

Hi Henning
I have Neogeo I/O too. But not tested.
I hear the software needed to work Neogeo I/O.
Do you have it ?
Great post Mystic_Merlin.
I found my backup software is old one.(MGD2BP01.X02)
Thank you !!

Here you go...made from the original disk, so only with the backup software.
Once again I doubt this makes a big difference as it doesn't seem to be a proprietary dos format, I'd be curious to know...

| It's not a proprietary format, but without a disk image it's not possible to low level compare with another disk for changes. Also I forget which tool but I remember hearing that one of them bootstraps off a sector or few.
